Nigerian international defender Rafiu Afolabi, without a club since his contract ended at French side Sochaux in June, has joined Austrian champions Salzburg.

The 29-year-old, who has won 20 caps, has already played in Austria, spending two seasons with Austria Vienna from 2003-2005.
