Public viewing has become part of the fan culture of the FIFA World Cup™. FIFA TV is responsible for the management of the public viewing rights to FIFA events. Under certain conditions, FIFA may license public viewing events under strict guidelines.

To protect the rights of the FIFA Media Rights Licensees and Commercial Affiliates, FIFA TV will review all requests for public viewing in and outside South Africa for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2009 and the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. FIFA TV will support the first level of communication between the requesting exhibitor and Media Rights Licensee of the relevant country for the provision of the signal and the public viewing licence in accordance with the local laws and regulations. During this process, FIFA TV will also qualify the type of public viewing request submitted.

For further information on the regulations or on a public viewing event in or outside South Africa, please write to publicviewing@fifa.org.
